PIGEON / CITY

PIGEON / CITY •

I started living vicariously through their uninterrupted social lives. Their presence turned into a daily reminder that I wasn’t alone and that things were really happening outside my 4 walls.

Since then I’ve been infatuated with the silly little guys, imagining what they’re thinking about and doing. When I walk around the city, I see a viewfinder- spotting pigeons, angles, textures and color blocks.

In 2020, I found myself constantly staring out of my apartment window in Brooklyn, looking for a distraction. I started to notice pigeons, every day- on the corner of the building across the street. I wondered if they were the same pigeons from the day before.

I’ve been experimenting with a few mediums for this series, but I find myself most comfortable with an Exacto knife, colored card stock and a few micron pens. The next phase of this will be exploring making and dying my own paper (:
